We don't have time for the "frustrated drill sergeant" or "the less the instructor knows about it the louder the instructor yells about it" approach to teaching. Students learn best when treated like adults and when it's obvious that the student and instructor have a common goal: to pass on or absorb as much of that skills-developing, life-saving information as possible.
