Dr. Artwohl talks about an interview she had with a police officer after he had been in a gunfight. The officer said: "The suspect shot at me and I froze. It took an eternity for me to finally return fire at him." Well, it only seemed that long to the officer. There was an audio tape of the gunfight and we know that the officer returned fire only a fraction of a second later. For him, though, it felt like forever.
