Sheepdog Tip of the Day, Before Combat tip 250
We told you earlier about an agency that was teaching its officers to draw and fire two shots. In order to speed up the drill, they taught the officers to automatically holster after they fired the two shots in order to be ready for the next repetition. But under the stress of real-life incidents, this was exactly what the officers did--they drew, fired two shots, and immediately holstered. This, of course, isn't always the right thing to do if there is still a threat. Training must always have a logical and operationally oriented conclusion.
