Sheepdog Tip of the Day, Before Combat tip 161

[Prev] [Next]

Establishing strategic objectives, operational priorities, guidelines for engine and truck company operations, and tool assignments formalize the critical knowledge, skills, and abilities that our fire service warriors need to thrive on the fireground. Mastering these skills develops a sense of confidence. When we trust our knowledge, skills, and abilities, we are able to process more information, because we are not wasting time thinking about the basics of our job. Our goal is to devote the maximum amount of RAM (random access memory, or how much, and how fast, a computer can "think") to maintaining our individual and team situational awareness (SA).
