Sheepdog Tip of the Day, After Combat tip 25

[Prev] [Next]

The head of the SWAT team for a Midwestern city told me how his wife responded to him having to kill someone. The shooting incident happened early in his shift and his wife had not heard about it. Later, he returned home at the usual time. He said, I was sitting in my chair after dinner and my wife commented, "You're kind of quiet. What's going on?" I said, "I had to kill someone today. I'm not sure how I feel about it." "Was it a good shoot? Is everything okay?" "Oh yeah. Everything's fine." Then she said, "Then what's the problem? That's what you do. I'm proud of you."
