Think of a warrior as a finely calibrated machine. His job is to decide in a fraction of a second exactly how much force to use. If he should use a little too much, he gets into trouble, and if he uses too little, he can die. In the first few days after a shooting, the calibration on this finely tuned individual may be out of whack.
